About Me
My name is Jill MacIsaac and I am proud to be able to serve Port Charlotte and the surrounding areas as a Certified Infant Swimming Resource Instructor.Born in England, I emigrated to the US in 1992 and became a US Citizen in 2006. My husband is Canadian and our son is a natural born US citizen - a truly international family! My husband and I met later in life and the apple of our eye, Alistair, was born in November 2006.
When Alistair started moving - crawling and then walking and running - we realized that more than fencing and screening was required if our son was to remain safe around the backyard pool. After some internet research, I found Infant Swimming Resource and knew that this was the perfect program. I contacted one of the instructors and was invited to view current lessons. BAM - that was it!! I was simply awestruck at the abilities of the students and knew two things: (1) that my son had to attend this program, and (2) that I wanted to be able to teach this to others, particularly in view of the fact that it was a one hour drive, each way, to our closest certified instructor; and only that week there had been a news report of another tragic childhood drowning in South Florida.
After many hours of academic study and in-water experience with a Master Instructor, I finally became certified to teach the ISR methodology. My son can now swim and float like a pro and the whole family thoroughly enjoys time in the pool.
With all of the canals, backyard pools, and beaches in Southwest Florida an effective survival swimming program is absolutely necessary in order to keep our children safe and prevent tragedies. Infant Swimming Resource is an extremely effective self-rescue swimming program and I am proud to be part of a team of individuals whose mission it is to keep babies and children safe in and around the water by teaching them to be aquatic problem-solvers. Our children are so precious to us and it is our job as parents to be diligent in keeping them safe. I look forward to working with each of your little ones!
